This picture was taken at Aunt Stephanie's house. He was the best Santa.
Grandma Ila This was just a girlie picture. This is my new hair do and Hannah is wearing the dress Aunt Lizzie sent her.
\Grandma Ila How do you like the new dress? I look so beautiful in it.

Christmas Morning 2006

This is the kids running down the stairs around 8:30. Yes, they did sleep in a little. Thank goodness because we did not finish our wrapping until 2am. Hannah did sneak down stairs at 6am to make sure Santa did not forget her this year. Then she went back to bed and got up with Porter.

A Ride In Heaven

I just need to share this story and to keep it for the kids when they get older. My Grandpa Freddie died a year ago last October. (2005) He was 89 years old. His birthday was yesterday, December 5. Every year on his birthday (except last year because he was too sick) he rode his horse Nick (which by the way I named after myself--ask me why I don't know- I was young) He was so bow-legged he would take the horse on the side of a hill just to mount him in his latter years. So last week Nick had a stroke and was put down on Saturday. Very Sad. It was like a last piece of grandpa. Anyway, the we think the horse was heading up to heaven to be there for grandpas birthday so he could ride him. Grandpa I hope you enjoyed your ride. By the way Jimmy said I should blogg this. Can you believe it? This picture was taken a few days after grandpa passed away looking towards the Bison Range.

A date with my little boy.

The other night I went on a date with Porter. I can say he's almost more fun than his dad!! Hannah had a girls night, dad was studying and Claire went to Nanas. We went to see Santa Clause 3. He was so giddy. He held my hand when we went in and asked a lot of questions. We got seated and ordered popcorn and nachos and a Sprite. He loved that our drink had two straws. He ate ALL of the popcorn. ( I had a few bites) We both ate the nachos. He laughed and was so good through the whole movie. Mom of course in the middle fell alseep. He kept saying , Mom wake up!" After the movie and on the way home I asked him if he would go on another date with me and he said it depended on where we went!! If you haven't taken your son out lately or at all I highly recommend it. It was priceless!

Happy Thanksgiving

I have had some extra time while lying around after my surgery to think of things that I am thankful for. This time of year I love. I love the leaves changing colors. I love the cooler weather. I love the anticipation of all the holidays. I am thankful for so many things. I think the one that comes to my mind right off is family. I am so thankful for my family. My husband is so good to me and to our children. He truly is an example of how you should be. My extended family that lives near I am grateful for them also. My family that lives so far away I really miss. I miss them around the holidays. I am thankful for their phone calls and their prayers. I am thankful for friends too. They make the world go 'round'. ( my little saying) I am also thankful for the little things my children do or say that make me laugh, smile and or cry. I am thankful for grandparents that I have and had for so long in my life. I am thankful for my relationship with my Savior. After having surgery and not being able to take care of my children for a while I am really grateful for good health. There is so much more but these are the things for now that I have had on my mind.

Aunt Stephanie and Claire

This ones for you Aunt Stephanie. I thought it turned out so cute and knew you'd want to a copy. She looks like she could pass as yours.

Halloween 2006

How fun is this? Porter dressed up as Peter in the movie Narnia. Hannah was a rock star. (Came up with most of it on her own) Claire was a lamb. (Nana Betty made hers and porters costume) We were very grateful. The Wednesday before they went to a fall festival at church and the youth did a bunch of games and fun stuff for the kids. Then on Friday our ward had a trunk or treat. The kids has fun running around from trunk to trunk getting candy. Then on Tuesday before Halloween Porter got to wear his costume to his school. Then on Halloween night they all went to nana's and papa's house to eat and trick or treat. (I was curled up on the couch sick with the flu-not fun) So Jimmy stayed with tradition and went on over to party. I heard they had a lot of fun with the cousins and with all the parties they went to-we got enough candy to for the next 5 years.

Volleyball Star

Hannah has been playing volleyball every Saturday for the past few weeks. She has practice every Tuesday also. She is really good and loves it. So once again I think we have found another loved sport. She is serving the ball in the first picture and in the other one she just hit the ball. I have really enjoyed watching her games. Unfortunately dad is at school every other Sat. And Porter can't hold still and says its boring. Claire so far has been pretty good.

Happy Baby Claire

Ft. Lauderdale Trip

Dr. Wallace sent us all to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. for a short trip. We had so much fun. We ate sea food. We sat on the beach. We took a Everglades tour and saw alligators like this cute one to your left. We stayed up really late and played this great game called Loaded Questions. You find things out about people you never knew. Lots of good laughs. We also did a little shopping. I was able to find THE Florida State shirts for Jimmy. Poor guy he never gets a souvenir. I enjoyed my shower the most. Yes, its true! No one coming in or a baby screaming and rushing to take a 2 minute shower. It was wonderful. I really needed a break. I came back with a huge smile, a grateful husband, kids that miss their mom and a mom that missed their kids. (should I tell you what the house looked liked or how big the laundry pile is or the dishes/ no I will just leave it to your imagination)

It's already been 1 year

Grandpa Freddie we miss you! I guess because I live in Texas and only got to see him once a year I still feel like he is still sitting in his chair by the window rubbing his hands. I love these two pictures because this was the last time my kids got to see their great grandpa. The one with Porter was on his (Porter's) birthday and grandpa was sharing a cookie with him. As always with the other picture I had to have a group pictures. This was just as grandpa was getting sick.. so he still looks like my grandpa still. When I went up to Montana in October just3 months later he did not look like my grandpa. If fact I have tried to forget that momory. I have so many great memories with my grandpa that I will remember those instead. Love you and miss you grandpa!

Claire's 6 month check up

We had our 6 month check up on Friday (OCT. 27) and she did so good. We are now 16.8lbs. I forgot the height. She got four shots and has not felt good since. She has ran a low grade fever. She is sitting up very good now. She has tried sweet potatoes, squash, peas, pears, and bannanas. (of course cereal too) The only thing she did not like were the peas. She gagged until her milk came up. Anyway back to the doctor visit, Hannah stayed home from school that day so she went with us to Dr. Leons. After Claire's visit I ask him if Hannah and Porter could get a flu shot today. I usually don't get the flu shots but, I felt like we should. Dr. Leon said sure and then left the room. Porter looked at me and said, "You did not tell me that I was getting a shot!!" Then Hannah piped in and said the same thing. I told them I didn't know if it was going to happen or not and that is why I didn't say anything. So they start discussing who's going first. I told them Claire went first and she got 4 shots and they could be brave and just get 1. We did get our shots and Hannah went first or second after Claire. Porter's comment after his shot was that it felt like a sword went through his arm.

Where do all the socks go???

Monday of this week I was doing a load of laundry and the washer stopped working. The water would not drain. So needless to say we had to call a repair man out. He came on Thursday morning and stayed all of 35 minutes and said there was a sock lodged in the drain of the washer. (One of Claires) The cost of the whole thing was $144.00. So I call it the $144.00 sock!!!!

Stop Growing!

The other day I was watching Hannah at volleyball practice and I had Claire in my lap and Porter beside me. Porter kept watching the coaches kids play on the side and he was wanting so bad to play with them. He ask me if I would walk him over there to play and I told him that I wasn't going to walk in front of the other parents. So he said, "Ok I will count to ten and then I will go by myself." "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10." He then went over there and if I could capture that moment I would have. He was so nervous and I have no idea what he said to the other boy but, they started to play. I sat there watching his shoulders and his stance as he was talking to that boy. Then the nervous moment of his hands. He has always had no inhibitions and he has reached the age where he does. I wish he could stay little forever. At that small moment in time I had to let the string out a little further. That's when I say STOP GROWING!!!
Claire also had sweet potatoes for the first time which means she is growing! ( By the way she loved them)
Hannah of course is so beautiful and comes home with the things that other kids say to her that are so mean. ( I don't like you because you are friends with so and so- Who Cares) I know, Its a big deal in fourth grade.
I know they can't stay little forever and I am accepting it a little at a time.

Bread,bread and more bread

Today I taught a class at enrichment and I taught the ladies how to make homemade bread! Yes, I did. I taught how to make them from scratch. You know the kneading kind. I have tried other ways and I like this way the best. The funny thing was I knew I was inadequate and when I got up to teach all the other ladies started finishing my sentences and giving other ideas as I taught my way. So who knows if I taught anyone anything. I do know that I learned a few things so my bread was good and now it will be even better. Ha Ha

Claire is almost 6 months

Good Friends and Good Fun

We went to see Eric and Lisa's new house in Coppell. We spent almost the whole day there. The kids went swimming almost until dark. Porter and Grant had a great time and Eric sisters daughter was there and Hannah played with her. Hannah was most impressed with the open buffet and the unlimited Candy Jar. Porter's eyes were bloodshot and he still insisted on staying in the pool. Claire just enjoyed all the entertainment and people. They have a back gate that opens into the back yard of Grant's elementary school. How convenient! We had a great visit and will have to go back soon. We sure miss them and wish they were still here, but some things you just can't control. Oh, and yes dad was at school.

Miller Maverick Award

Hannah won the "Miller Maverick Award". She received it at school on Friday. They give the award each six weeks to 2 kids in each homeroom in the 4th,5th, and 6th grades. They have to live the Miller Maverick Code in order to receive it. Some of the things you have to follow are.... be a friend to have a friend- keep your work area neat and clean- do your very best in your class work- ect... I was so excited for her but, at the same time I wondered where this person was when she came home.?? I am thankful she is doing all the "right" things at school, just wish she could receive the "Eason Household Award". Anyway, heres to Hannah for being a GREAT citizen at Mller Elementary!!!!!!

My Michael Bear

Today is Michael's birthday. He would have been 20 years old today. I worked with his mom on his scrapbook today. It has been quite a healing book. At some time or another each family member has gone to his room to look at this book. I have enjoyed being apart of making it. This is a special day, a day to be happy because it was the begining of his life. Michael was a special part of my life. He helped me to grow and I loved being around him because of his spirit. He is missed every day. Thank you Michael for your smile and your love.

Jimmy got accepted

I am so happy for my husband. He got accepted to Argosy University. He will start his masters degree in psychology this next Saturday. He will be in class for 15 weeks every Saturday. (8:30-5:00) this will go on for4 years I think. Oh my gosh! I will be a single mom forever. I know this sounds so selfish but, I must vent somewhere. I started working 2 days a week now. I do enjoy working but it is very hard to get everybody ready and where they need to be. Those of you who have done it understand. On top of that my cleaning job up at the office is still once a week and I still am cutting hair. Oh and trading babysitting. Hannah will start volleyball in Oct. I am sure most of the games will be on Sat. Guess who will be taking her and toting 2 kids . I feel like a baby whinning about this but, Jimmy has been such a proactive parent that it will be quite an adjustment for all of us. So if I look a little more frazzled you will know why. I know this is something Jimmy has been interested in for years and as we all know the computer field is paying less and less. He has always helped people and people find him to talk to him about their problems. He will do well. So here we go.

Yeah, I get to go to SCHOOL

Can you see the excitement! It was there. At first he said, "Mom, I'm a little nervous." Then when we got there and he could here the kids he said,"Mom, I'm not nervous now." As we walked down the hallway to his class he held my hand very tight. Then we walked in his room and his teachers came to the door to meet him and were so sweet. They said there are 11 boys in the class and 3 girls so I don't think there will be a problem finding enough friends. As I knelt down to tell him good bye and to have a great day, he puckered up to kiss me. I loved it. After school he called me at work and it took him 8 minutes to tell me about his GREAT DAY. He met a friend named Richard and one boys name is Mattie (Remember Mattie the girlfriend) he thought that was kind of funny. He said he stayed on green which is good. They talked about families and he has to take a picture on Thursday. He told them he had 5 in his family. He couldn't believe that this one boy has 9 in his. Hopefully they have lots of animals in their family!
This was exactly what he needed. He didn't quite know where his place was after Hannah went to school and all his friends went to kindergarten. I didn't realize how hard this would be as a mom to hold him back a year. He has also been regressing with Claire. It like he needs extra attention. Maybe its the middle child thing. Who knows. If I only knew all the answers.

Our visit to Oklahoma

This picture was actually taken when Claire was 2 1/2 months old when we went to see Uncle Josh in June. We just got back from a short trip to see him again. He is moving to Colorado. He will live with our cousin Alicia and be near family. He will hopefully do better in school and just better all around. We got there late Friday night and visited then went to bed. The next day the kids went swimming with dad and I helped pack up the apartment and do laundry. Then we went to a fun place called Incredible Pizza and let the kids play games and ride bumper cars. They thought it was 100xs better than Chuckie Cheese. Then Sunday I cooked lunch and we packed some more. It was good to see Josh since it will be a while before we get to see him again. I've enjoyed him being only 5 hours away. I got to have him for Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family. Life changes all the time and You need to be ready. I hope this change is a good one for Josh. He deserves it.

What I wake up to every morning.

I just had to share what I am so fortunate to wake up to every morning. As most of you know I am not a morning person. I even thought getting older I would become one but it's not happening. Anyway, no matter what kind of mood I am in or how tired I am I get to see this cute smiling face looking back at me. How sweet is that? She coos and smiles and even makes these goofy funny smiles ( kind of like the pic) that make the kids laugh. I know she is my last baby and I am enjoying all the sweet moments. She's already growing up too fast and I am kind of sad. I do await with anticipation for each changing month. P.S. We went to the dr. on Friday and she weighed a whopping 13.8lbs. Yeah Claire.

Ready For Battle

This is Hannah and Porter the other day. They were watching Narnia and Hannah was the horse and Porter was Peter. As the battle scene played they pretended to be in the battle too. I loved watching them. The more I thought about it the more I hope that they stay close through out their lives and help each other fight the battle along the way. I hope that she will carry her brother on her back or should I say he will be the one doing the carrying. it This is what makes them fighting all worth while.
Them playing together for a few precious moments.

Fourth Grade here we come!!

This was Hannah's first day of school. She will be going into 4th grade. I ask her if she was nervous and she said no, not really. Guess who was and had to go to the bathroom for her. ME She had her lunch made the day before. She picked out her clothes and went to bed early. She got up before her alarm and was ready to leave at 7:45. I told her I wanted to take her picture and to come in the house. Guess what? We didn't want to be late so I had to take her picture in the van!! (and here it is)
When I picked her up she said I have the best teacher on earth planet! I take it she had a great day. She loves her teachers. She showed me all her books and folders ect. The excitement is in the air. We went to bed tonight just as excited as we were this morning.

My mom is an angel

This picture is a picture of my mom and her mom, my Grandma Eldora. This picture was taken on the day we buried my Grandpa Fredie. My mom is truly and angel in my eyes. She is taking care of my grandma. Anyone whose has taken care of someone knows how much love, time, care and concern go into this. It definitly is a selfless act of service. I know my mom wouldn't want it any other way. They are so cute. They go shopping, shopping and more shopping. I don't think I know anyone who likes to shop more (oh Hannnah does) . My mom takes her to her doctor appointments. She cooks for her and she tucks her in bed every night. She is doing so good. I know its because of all the love and care she has been given. I know my grandma is so grateful for my mom and I know their relationship has really grown. Thanks mom for being an angel. Someday I will be your angel.

Hurt... Porter... NEVER

If something is going to happen, it will to Porter. Last Saturday he fell on the metal frame of the bed and cut a huge hole on the inside of his cheek. I thought we were going to have to have to stitch it up. My boss Dr. Wallace and his wife came by to look at it. He thought it would do more trama to give him a shot and stitches than to just let it heal on its own. So we've had a lot of bland foods and a very sore mouth.
Today Porter was attempting to jump off the diving board backwards. I thought with the float sticking out he was safe.. Ha!! No he wasn't. He jumped and as I watched he slammed his chin on the diving board. Then there was blood and tears. He managed to get out of the pool and I checked him out. To my surprise , no holes, no broken teeth, no tongue bitten off , just a burn on the chin and a bite mark on the cheek. Whew, I was just picturing me,Hannah, her friend and Claire heading to the ER to get stitches. They would have thought the Beverly Hillbillies arrived.
For those of you who don't know we have had a broken arm. Yes, and he's only 5. Just last month he turned 5! I hope this isn't a sign for the furture.

A Good Deed

The other day I was buying school supplies at Wal-Mart and as I was checking out the guy in front of me with 2 kids was telling the cashier he only had $40. His total was over that so he started putting things back. He was then down to 68 cents and the cashier was digging in her smock to see if she had it and she didn't so he started to put something else back and I said," I have it." He was so thankful. I have been there many times knowing I only have a certain amount and then went through the process of taking items off the ticket. I know it wasn't much but, he was about to put a Hamburger Helper back. Now that's a meal for his family. I felt good and hoped I made a difference. It sure made me feel good. If everyone would take the time to look for and watch for opportunities to help out our brother it would be a better world. Now Sister Dew would call that charity. The Pure Love of Christ. If you've read or are reading the book "If Life were easy, it wouldn't be hard." It's a pretty good one.

Swimming with friends

This summer we have spent many hours swimming. Swimming with our friends Abby and Ethan. There is something about kids and water! Hannah is perfecting her dive and blowing bubbles under water and not holding her nose. Porter is swimming under water the width of the pool with the right arm working and the left arm doing this flipper thing. Claire is just sporting her bikini and staying out of the sun. Mom likes is because everyone had fun and is sooo tired when we get home.

Pics of Claire June 2006

These were taken in June. Apparently after the bow was put on we made that sad face. Love the polka dot bikini?

Grandma Ila these are for you! Hugs and Kisses
