Happy Birthday/Fathers Day to Jimmy

Yes, I may always be older than him but, I will always be wiser!!! Ha Ha I wanted to wish my hubby happy birthday. 36 years old. I also wanted to back up a week and wish him Happy Fathers Day. He is the greatest dad. He spends time with them and makes them feel important. He builds them up and tells them that he loves them. He is also a great example of how a husband should be. We hope that helps the kids when choosing a spouse. He is a source of strength in our home. I stand back sometimes and just watch him interact with them and I feel so blessed.

A day of rescue and creepy reptiles

We drove into our neighborhood and I spotted a poor turtle trying to cross the road. So I moved the car over and got out to look at him. I sent Hannah to the house to get a box and we took him to our house. Porter was sure he needed a drink and then he gets one of my bowls and puts water in it and says he needs to get in. The funny thing was the bowl was smaller than the turtle. He must have gotten his shell nicked by a car because it was broken and bleeding just a little. Needless to say I told the kids we could not keep the turtle and we needed to take it to the lake by our house and set it free. When we put him near the lake water and as soon as the water hit him away he went. Now the other picture was a baby snake on our front porch. The way Hannah described it to her dad on the phone you would have thought it was an anaconda. It did scare us and we are a little freaked out to go outside now. We don't know what kind it was so if you know let me know. Jimmy thought it was a rat snake. Hoped you enjoyed our exciting day as much as we did.

Hannah's Party

This was Hannah's birthday party. She wanted to go ice skating. So we went and they had a blast. I ask my friend from work to help since she had been taking ice skating lessons and I was not wanting to ice skate. Plus someone had to take the pictures. Hannah decided to have ice cream sundaes instead of cake. In the picture she is staring at the trick candles. I did find out the older they get the later they want to stay up. I am getting way too old for this. Poor Claire, she'll be lucky to get a cake. Anway we had fun and Hannah had a happy birthday.

Scrapbook Convention 2007

I just finished 2 days of working at the scrapbook convention. I had to stop and laugh because these women will do anything to be there. There was a 4 day old baby, a lady who just had surgery- with the wrap still on her face and a lady who just flew in from Thiland the night before. Now thats some serious scrapbookers! Maybe I fall into that catagory also because I paid babysitters to work there. So I think it all boils down that I will do anything to go and be apart of the people who share the same love that I have. To preseve memories, journal life and take lots of pictures!!!! I also saw a shirt that said, "When my memory goes, help me find my scrapbooks." That will be me. I'm already losing my memory. I had a great time and can't wait until next year for Andrea and I to keep the tradition going.

Please don't put me in

The water was a little cold for Claire but Hannah insisted she go in and this is what happened. She hated it and cried. Then she fell asleep. It was such a sweet moment. Then she loved it. Isn't that so true with kids.

My birthday weekend!

We had so much fun at Lisa's on my birthday weekend. Eric was out of town and Jimmy had school all weekend so the kids and I packed up and went there to play. She made me a cake and everything. I enjoyed myself and it was nice to relax and let the kids swim. Lisa and I caught up on everything too. Thanks to Lisa for a great time!!!!

Ranger Game

We've gone to two Ranger games this year and they lost both of them. One we went to was on Hannah's Birthday. She had so much fun. Probably the most exciting thing that happened at the game was when Sammy Sosa hit a homerun. That would make it 598 for him. We get the tickets at Jimmy's work and they are 5 rows behind home plate. Pretty cool seats. So hopefully we will get to see a win soon. Porter's highlite of the game is cotton candy and peanuts. Hannah actually likes watching and ask a lot of questions. As you see Claire is not in the pics-- she is with a babysitter.

Porter's Surgery

Porter had surgery on Thursday May 24th to remove one of his tubes. It never came out on its own so it stayed and perforated the ear drum. Dr. Briggs had to go in and take it out and patch the hole. Porter did very well. He came out of his surgery a little agitated so I sang I am a Child of God to him and he went right to sleep and slept for 2 hours. I don't think your ever to old for Mom to sing to you. The next few days he did great and had no pain. I can't believe hes only 5 and has had 3 surgeries. He is my tough guy! Oh and by the way Superman and Batman went into surgery with him. Nothing like having a super hero with you all the way!!!

Trophy Night

You would have thought he got MVP that night. The smile should tell it all. His coach gave them all fun names and Porter's was "PUT EM OUT PORTER" because the very first game he got 2 outs in a row. He was so excited!!!! What a great way to end our first season of T-ball.
